We are looking for an experienced operations/retail manager. The main objective of the position is to ensure the successful delivery of our Stadium & Fanzone retail operations at up to 14 Rugby World Cup 2015 venues across England and Wales.
This role is very hands including:
- Scoping visits to Stadiums and Fanzones.
- Planning and setting up a combination of permanent and temporary retail structures for tournament time.
- Co-ordinating stock ordering and timely movement of stock to and from Stadiums and our warehouse.
- Staff recruitment, training and performance management of retail staff.
- The day to day operation and performance of all retail outlets at tournament time.
You will be working alongside a combination of people from Stadium operators, City councils,
RWC 2015 commercial delivery team and Sportfolio management.
The nature of this role will involve a reasonable amount of travel and nights away.
To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate:
- Proven successful experience at a senior level with multi-site management of retail or major event retailing.
- Ability to write and understand Profit & Loss spreadsheets
- Highly organised, good attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines and work under pressure.
- Good communicator with ability to interface with people at all levels.
- Proactive thinker in identifying issues and proposing intelligent commercial solutions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as determined by the needs of the business.
- Be self-motivated with an enthusiastic and inspiring leadership style.
- Full & clean drivers licence.
- Experience with sports apparel and event retailing merchandise will be favourable.
Sportfolio Europe is a special purpose company set up to maximise the sales opportunity of merchandise for the Rugby World Cup 2015.
Sportfolio has the global apparel rights for Rugby World Cup 2015 and we also control all merchandise retail outlets at Stadiums and Fanzones for RWC 2015.
Sportfolio has previously successfully delivered a similar programme for RWC 2011 hosted in New Zealand.
Sportfolio’s head office is beside Twickenham Stadium and this is where the role will be based.
